Jarvis Jones is an accomplished attorney and a well-known Minnesota community bar leader with over 20 years of experience practicing law and in senior business management for a Fortune 200 Company. Throughout his legal career, Jones has served as outside litigation counsel, senior corporate counsel, and senior regulatory compliance counsel. Jones’ experience as a seasoned legal professional is complemented by his senior business management experience for a Fortune 200 company as a Vice-President of Strategic Business Development and as an Assistant Vice-President for New Business & Products Development.

In private practice, Jarvis Jones’ law prowess proved invaluable to his commercials clients’ achieving their bottom-line business goals and objectives. As outside counsel, Jones served as the point person for his business clients assisting them with strategizing feasible and viable legal approaches to commercial litigation matters, such as product liability, commercial insurance defense, Employment, Wage and Hour (“FLSA”) and also CGL Products-Liability insurance defense coverage.
Jones has over 20 years of legal experience serving corporate clients as in-house and private practice counsel. As Managing Partner at Jones Satre & Weimer, he managed and handled business clients’ legal matters involving products liability, medical devices’ recalls, insurers’ commercial insurance defense cases, Wage and Hour (“FLSA”) matters, and also CGL Products-Liability insurance defense coverage disputes. At the Blackwell Igbanugo law firm, Jones chaired and managed the Insurance Defense Practice Group and managed the attorneys and staff working within this practice group.
As in-house Senior Corporate Counsel, Jones advised and guided senior management through a myriad of complex legal issues that affected the business leadership team’s ability to profitably write new and existing business in different state regulated markets. Jones also served as Senior Government Affairs Counsel (“lobbyist”) and was responsible for advising and assisting senior management and P&L business unit heads in writing new business by navigating through complex legal, regulatory compliance and audit issues.
Having taken note of Jarvis Jones’ successes on the legal side, senior management chose Jones to move from the legal side to the P&L business side of the organization. On the business side for a Fortune 200 Company, as Vice President of Strategic Business Development, Jones strategically designed, developed and managed a new start-up multi-distribution P&L business operations by developing four new b2b distribution channels that included an e-business channel, a service/call center, a Strategic Alliance Channel and, a modified small agent channel.
Moreover, Jones served as Assistant Vice-President of New Business Development and was responsible for developing, operationalizing and then managing a new start-up subsidiary company for purposes of writing new business and launching new products into 15 new state markets. Prior to this position, as Assistant Vice-President of New Products, Jones designed, implemented, and institutionalized a New Products Unit for the organization’s medical commercial division and was responsible for developing a new products development system and processes from the ideation stage to the launch and monitoring stage.
With his vast and field-tested knowledge in legal, litigation, regulatory compliance, strategic planning and new business & product development, Jarvis is looking to combine his legal prowess and business-side entrepreneurial inclinations to either a startup company, a small expanding business, or a larger company looking to expand one of its business divisions or units into a new area, distribution channel or new markets.. Ideally, Jones is seeking a senior management position that allows him to capitalize on and leverage his legal, regulatory, and strategic business development management experience.
Jarvis Jones earned his BA from St. Olaf College, and his law degree from William Mitchell Law School.
